Guides

The guides develop individual features step by step:

  • Identity and Fingerprinting: identify calculation inputs, distinguish data changes from presentation changes, and associate results with their inputs.
  • Persistence and External Resources: write complete packages, retrieve verified payloads, and transfer compressed external Arrays between directories and HDF5.
  • Conventional Types: distinguish conventional objects from DCIs, use numerical and collection operations, and understand conversion.
  • Custom Conversion Rules: define application-owned Record conventions and recursively convert conventional objects, using dates as an example.
  • Command-Line Interface: inspect files, transfer formats, search nested mappings, and compute fingerprints.
  • Shorthand Preprocessing: compact Lists, substitutions, and scalar eval(...).

Start with Getting Started for binary persistence, a first conversion example, and the command-line interface. The Reference describes DCT structure and identity; conventional objects follow their own type-specific rules.
