Reference

This reference describes DataSchemer (DS), whose schema processor accepts DataCanon Instances (DCIs).

• Terminology: types, instances, conventional objects, schemas, and projections.
• Behavioral rules: validation, schema composition, child presence, source merging, and construction.
• Python API: supported entry points and output properties.
• Errors: user-facing diagnostics and application exception boundaries.

DataCanon (DC)’s specification defines DataCanon Types (DCTs), DCI equality, canonical encoding, fingerprints, and representation formats. DS uses those definitions and adds schema behavior. The DS reference does not introduce another DCI identity model or a portable schema encoding.
